I  teach “Furniture Painting Basics: Chalk-type Painting” for up to 10 students.

This workshop is offered several times during the year through the Eastern Shore Institute of Lifelong Learning.

This workshop is conducted at the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store, 367 S. Greeno Rd, Fairhope, AL 36532

I also teach this workshop at other times for adult groups at your location.

 

Do you prefer one-on-one instructions?
I teach individuals privately, at your location, or mine. Paint your own furniture as you learn!

This 3-hour hands-on workshop covers the basics of chalk painting furniture, including how to make your own chalk finish paint from any regular latex paint.

Students learn:

What IS chalk-type paint? Why use it for painting furniture?
Make your own chalk-type paint from any latex paint
How to create a vintage finish with distressing
Using glazes and protective coatings to enhance the finish.
Instructor: Dan Therrell
Supply fee: $20.
Supplies provided: 1 quart of Sherwin-Williams paint*, dry chalk-type powder, one premium paint brush, and all other required materials.

Please bring at least one wood picture frame or other small wood items to paint.

*Select any Sherwin Williams custom-tinted latex paint color
